    District 1

    Ariel Walton is a super excited senior at Craigmont High School. At Craigmont High, Ariel is involved in Student Council, SCS Student Congress, and the outstanding Optional Program offered at the school. Outside of school, Ariel loves to participate in her church’s youth department, where she dances and helps plan special events. She recently acquired an interest in “real estate flipping” and spends many hours researching the hottest trends and designs that home buyers desire. Ariel is overwhelmed with joy to begin her work with the Memphis Youth City Council, and she is read to listen and work to fulfill the needs of the youth of OUR GREAT CITY OF MEMPHIS.

    TYRANY NUNN

    District 2

    Tyrany Nunn is a senior at Ridgeway High School. At Ridgeway High, Tyrany is the Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America and the cheer captain of Ridgeway’s cheer team. Outside of school, Tyrany loves to be involved in Bridge Builders and attend church. She also loves to travel, shop, and go to convers. Tyrany is thrilled to be a member of the Memphis Youth City Council because she plans on bringing innovative and effective ideas to the table to help make Memphis a better place for the youth to live, learn, and grow.

    MACKENZIE WALKER

    District 3

    Mackenzie Walker is a senior at Whitehaven high School. At Whitehaven High, Mackenzie participates in Distributive Educational Clubs of America (DECA), the National English Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, and Peer Power. Outside of school, Mackenzie is a member of Bridge Builders, Girls Inc., and Student Congress. She is a very active member at Castalia Baptist Church where she signs in the choir. During her spare time, Mackenzie loves to read, shop online, and travel. In the fall of 2017, Mackenzie plans to attend Hampton University in Hampton, VA, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Spanish. Mackenzie as well as the Memphis Youth City Council team hopes to tackle issues within the community and build a better Memphis! Mackenzie is ecstatic to work with the Memphis Youth City Council!

    District 4

    Kiara Amador is a junior at Wooddale High School. At Wooddale High, Kiara is involved in the National Honor Society. Apart from studying, she loves to read and draw. Kiara Amador looks forward to making positive changes concerning the issues involving the youth of Memphis as a member of the Memphis Youth City Council.

    District 5

    Lizbeth Lopez is a senior at Memphis Catholic Middle and High School. At Memphis Catholic, Lizbeth is involved in the National Honor Society, Volleyball, and Charger Crew. She enjoys teaching Sunday school, reading, and playing soccer. Lizbeth is ready to tackle real world issues in Memphis by actively participating in the Memphis Youth City Council.

    KENNETH ROBINSON

    District 6

    Kenneth Robinson is a senior at Mitchell High School. At Mitchell High, Kenneth is a member of the football team, basketball team, track team, and the National Honor Society. Outside of school, he volunteers by giving drum lessons at Ford Road Elementary. Kenneth also visits the elderly at foster homes.

    District 7

    Sydnee Collins is a junior at Memphis Academy of Health Sciences High School. At Memphis Academy of Health Sciences (MAHS), Sydnee is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club, and Yearbook Staff. Outside of school, she loves to sing with her church choir and participate in the Liberating Girls of the Liberty. She also loves cooking and traveling. Sydnee is eager to make changes in her community and help move Memphis’s youth from good to great!

    District 8, Position 1

    Jazzmun Norman is a senior at Douglass High School. At Douglass High, Jazzmun is involved in the National Honor Society, the Optional Program, Student Council, and the Douglass High School Cheer Team. Outside of school, she loves to give advice to other youth on making the right choices. She is focusing on attending college as well as dancing, singing, band baking. Jazzmun is hoping to tackle the crime rates involving our youth as an inaugural member of the Memphis Youth City Council. Furthermore, she hopes the Council will become a positive influence to others.

    District 8, Position 2

    Taelen Boyd is a junior at Holis F. Price Middle College High School. At Hollis F. Price, Taelen is involved in the International Studies Club and the Student Government Association. Outside of school, she likes to write poetry, and read. She also likes to donate books to libraries across Memphis, TN. Taelen Boyd is a committed and determined individual who seeks a positive change in Memphis and she is willing to make that change happen by engaging others and exercising her rights in the community.

    LADARRYL WINSLEY, II

    District 8, Position 3

    LaDarryl Winsley, II is a sophomore at Westwood High School. At Westwood High, LaDarryl is a dedicated member of the debate team as well as one of the few trombone players in the band. LaDarryl has maintained a GPA of 3.9. Outside of school, he sings first tenor in the men’s choir at Cummings Street Missionary Baptist Church with his father. In his free time, LaDarryl likes to read fantasy novels, play video games, and produce music online. He is looking forward to his role on the Memphis Youth City Council.

    MEGAN WASSEF

    District 9, Position 1

    Megan Wassef is a senior at St. Mary’s Episcopal School. At St. Mary’s, Megan is quite involved in government activities. She is the Government Club President and the General Assembly President of the Model United Nations. Megan is also a delegate for the Youth Legislature and the senior class vice president. Outside of school, she is a regional ambassador for Girl Rising which is an organization that works to educate communities about women’s issues worldwide. Most importantly, Megan is a first generation Egyptian American who takes pride in her culture and heritage. She is active in her church community as the president of her youth group and she is a member of the Greek Dance Troupe. Megan is passionate about the organization that she is involved with and is looking forward to working with people who share a common interest and common goals of our city’s youth.

    District 9, Position 2

    Joey Rodriguez is a senior at Memphis University School. At MUS, Joey is involved in the Government Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Youth in Government, Model United Nations, Spanish Club, and the Technology Entertainment and Design (TED) Club. Outside of school, he participates in the high school ministry at Bellevue Baptist Church. Formerly, Joey was the president of the Bartlett Mayor’s Youth Council. Joey attends Memphis Bar Association meetings whenever his schedule permits. He hopes that the Memphis Youth City Council can help the youth of Memphis to become productive citizens that will make our city a great place to live.

    DALLAS MOORE

    District 9, Position 3

    Dallas Moore is a senior at East High School. At East, she is involved in Peer Power, Girls in Engineering Math and Science (G.E.M.S.), Leadership Memphis, the National Honor Society, and Girls Inc. Trio Program. Dallas has participated in several summer college programs (Morehouse College, Tennessee State University, University of Memphis, and Spelman College) to help her further her education in engineering and math. Even with her busy schedule, she loves to donate time volunteering for the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA), feeding the homeless, helping with local festivals, and babysitting. Dallas also enjoys spending time her family, dancing, and reading. She is eager to lean more about politics so that she can educate and empower the youth in her community to become more active, stay connected, and be a positive part of Memphis’ future. Her motto: MEMPHIS IS HOME! BELIEVE IN IT!
