The MPLOY Youth Summer Work Experience (MPLOY) is a locally funded initiative administered by the Memphis Office of Youth Services (MOYS) that provides City of Memphis youth ages 14 to 22 with meaningful and rewarding summer experiences. The MPLOY Youth Summer Work Experience offers various career path options according to the participants’ strengths and interests, including soft skills training, entry-level positions, and internships. Some of the top employers in the Memphis area make this possible by agreeing to serve as Business Partners and Service Providers, offering structured job opportunities for youth during the summer.

The hiring process involves the following timeline:
•    October 2, 2017 -December 1, 2017: Application period for external applicants to submit their resume and cover letter via email.
•    December 4, 2017-December 15, 2017: Application review period. Serious inquiries only.
•    Outstanding candidates will be invited for an interview.
•    Selected applicants must be willing to work flexible hours in the spring, and work full-time during the program dates June 1, 2018 – July 18, 2018

MAP 8th Grade is the Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP)’s new after school-based tutoring and mentoring program for 8th graders that pairs one volunteer-mentor with 1-3 students to work in the subject area of the volunteer-mentor’s educational and/or professional expertise.

Apply now, so you can give young people the extra attention and academic support that they need while being a positive role model in their lives. MAP will provide staff to support and supplement tutor-mentors’ work so everyone can enhance their teaching and collaboration skills while networking with other passionate and intelligent young professionals.
